During the seventh week after Pascha, on Trinity Memorial Saturday, a day of special commemoration of the departed, a Great Panikhida (Memorial Service) was celebrated in our church. The service was led by the rector of the parish, Archpriest Vadim Zakrevsky.
In his sermon, Fr. Vadim once again reminded the faithful of the importance of praying for the departed. He emphasized that the prayers of the living are the only means by which help can be offered to those who have already departed to the Lord, since only the living are able to pray for the repose of the departed. At the same time, he noted that this opportunity is a great mercy and grace from God, as well as an important spiritual duty of every Christian.
