On October 22, the feast day of the Holy Apostle James, son of Alphaeus, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in our parish church. The service was presided over by the rector of the parish, Archpriest Vadim Zakrevsky.
In his sermon, reflecting on the Gospel reading of the day, Father Vadim emphasized that one of the most direct paths to finding spiritual consolation, strengthening one’s hope in the Saviour, and drawing closer to God is through sincere and constant prayerful communion with Him.
The rector noted that speaking with God is not merely a matter of presenting requests and petitions, but above all a living spiritual relationship that strengthens faith, inspires hope, and helps us become more deeply aware of God’s presence in our lives.
When such communion becomes an integral part of daily life, it can transform a person’s inner world, strengthen trust in Divine Providence, and teach us to await the answers to our prayers with faith and humility.
Concluding his sermon, Father Vadim addressed the faithful with a simple yet profound spiritual exhortation: “Speak with God. Speak with Him every day.”
