On January 11, the Divine Liturgy was served in the church of our parish. The service was led by the rector of the parish, Archpriest Vadim Zakrevsky. On this day the Holy Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Righteous Joseph the Betrothed, King David, and James, the brother of the Lord according to the flesh, as well as the 14,000 infants of Bethlehem killed by Herod.
In his sermon during and after the service, Father Vladimir pointed out that any event has several sides. Thus, almost immediately after the birth of Jesus, they wanted to kill Him, and at the same time 14,000 innocent infants were killed. Drawing a bridge to our life today,
Father Vadim noted that the main thing is that in all a person’s actions there should be order and that all actions should be carried out with love. This was the main idea, the red thread of Father Vadim’s sermon.

We also remind you that tomorrow, January 14, at 9:30, the Divine Liturgy will take place in our cathedral. It is the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord . The commemoration of Saint Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia, is also observed.
